The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities. The new hire w ill join the Space Planning, Readiness, and Operations ( SPRO ) Department team to provide operationally focused space solutions for warfighter and end users in support of our Department of War (Do W ), Intelligence Community (IC), and civil customers . We serve as the EED and ETG entry point for wargaming and exercises, space operations planning, and operationally relevant support to connect corporate technical capabilities and operational requirements, integrate capabilities across the space enterprise, and educate the workforce on space operations and warfighting . Join us as a Space Weaponeering Specialist on th e Space Planning, Readiness, and Operations Department team at The Aerospace Corporation! Work Model 1 00% Onsite: This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CO, which requires 100% onsite work . Colorado Springs, CO may be an alternate work location. What You’ll Be Doing Leveraging your knowledge of the weaponeering and Joint Targeting Cycle to provide planning and course of action (COA) development to Department of War (DoW) customers . Supporting customers across strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Applying Joint Munition Effectiveness Manual (JMEM)-related analysis to US Space Force hard problems. Translating operational needs into acquisition requirements. Identifying limitations/issues with current architectures, systems, and integration processes . Building roadmaps for short-term and long-term operations and processes to feed into future acquisition strategies . Interfacing with acquisition organizations to aid their understanding of operational concepts of employment, tactics, techniques, procedures, and operations requirements to facilitate operations system utility across the DOTMLPF-P framework. Serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on air, space, and cyber operations . Work ing across space mission and program boundaries to identify common program challenges and risks, provide enterprise recommendations, and lead issues to closure . Work ing closely and effectively with internal and external partners in integrated product teams that include government, industry, FFRDC members , and collaboration across Aerospace. Communicat ing effectively with customers and management through timely reporting of technical issues, analysis reports, and recommendations . What You Need to be Successful Minimum Requirements for the Engineering Specialist Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in a relevant discipline . 8 or more years of increasing responsibility and related career experience to include background performing weaponeering functions, leveraging JMEM, applying the JTC, etc. Experience in space control, command and control, operational planning, or battle management. Proven experience taking initiative and delivering on commitments. Familiarity with acquisition strategies and/or processes. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience working with government customers like US Space Command, US Space Force, and/or the NRO. Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site approx. if required . Active Top Secret security clearance; eligible for SCI and SAP/SAR. In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Senior Engineering Specialist include: 12 or more years of relevant career experience. Demonstrated blend of operational, technical, and leadership experience. How You Can Stand Out It would be impressive if you have one or more of these: Advanced degree from a rec ognized institution in a relative discipline . Weapons School graduate. Experience in weaponeering in a non-space domain (e.g., ground, maritime, air). Demonstrated background in leading teams in all major aspects of space operations. Joint Planning experience with a Combatant Command J3/5 or Joint Staff J3/5. Experience with different space operations mission areas/functions such as electronic warfare (EW); orbital warfare (OW); missile warning missile tracking (MW/MT) ; space domain awareness (SDA); intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); command and control (C2); satellite communications (SATCOM) or space data transport; or, position, navigation, and timing (PNT). Experience on an acquisition program. Experience in operational and tactical level processes. Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and/or SAP/SAR access. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
