Supervisory Responsibilities: None Key Responsibilities: Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders in adults and pediatric patients, primary adults. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care. Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences and expanding professional and academic networks. Educating patients and their families on speech disorders, language and swallowing and available therapies. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students. Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required. Maintaining a team approach to meet the needs of our patients and their families effectively and efficiently Performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress. Head and Neck Cancer experience preferred McKenzie Health reserves the right to assign, reassign, or eliminate duties and responsibilities as necessary. Qualifications Required Skills and Abilities: Solid understanding of Speech Therapy principles and techniques relevant to outpatient care. Excellent people skills with the ability to foster trust and cooperation. Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information and situations. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a busy clinical setting. Dedication to compassionate, safe, and professional patient care. Education and Experience: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. New graduates are welcome to apply. Strong knowledge of speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Excellent communication and people skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Licenses and Certifications: Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). ASHA BLS certification
