Build Your Next Career Move in Fire Protection

Are you experienced in the fire protection industry and ready to take ownership of project pricing and bid preparation? We are seeking a technically minded professional to help evaluate upcoming projects, develop accurate cost proposals, and support the successful acquisition of small-scale sprinkler installation and renovation work.

This position may appeal to an established estimating professional or a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter looking to apply their field knowledge in a new career direction.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assess new project opportunities and determine the materials, labour, and resources required.
  • Calculate quantities and develop pricing for sprinkler installations, system modifications, tenant fit-outs, and retrofit work.
  • Review architectural and mechanical plans to identify installation requirements and potential challenges.
  • Liaise with suppliers and trade partners to secure current pricing and confirm product availability.
  • Prepare customer quotations and tender packages that clearly outline project costs and inclusions.
  • Work with the operations team to clarify technical details, installation methods, and project requirements.
  • Conduct site assessments and attend project discussions when additional information is needed.
  • Monitor submitted quotations, respond to pricing inquiries, and update proposals as project details change.
  • Track cost information and use previous project data to strengthen future pricing decisions.

What You'll Bring

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in estimating, sprinkler fitting, mechanical construction, or fire protection.
  • Practical knowledge of sprinkler system components, installation methods, NFPA standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Confidence interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to prepare accurate cost calculations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and everyday business software.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
  • A structured approach to managing multiple quotations, changing requirements, and submission deadlines.

Your Benefits

  • Competitive pay aligned with your experience and technical expertise.
  • Extended health, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
  • Paid vacation and time off.
  • Convenient on-site parking.
  • Access to additional training and skills development.
  • Tuition reimbursement opportunities.
  • Relocation assistance may be available to eligible candidates.
  • A supportive team environment with scope to develop your estimating career.
