Job Type: Full-Time, Salaried / Exempt - $85,000 - $95,000
Job Location: Bentonville, Arkansas

Individual base salary for this role ultimately will depend on numerous factors, including but not limited to experience, job-related skills, relevant education or training, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate could fall anywhere within the stated range. Beyond base salary, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k, and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment. This role also is eligible to participate in Kodiak's annual discretionary bonus program, which is dependent on various factors, including individual and company performance.

At Kodiak, category insights help our retail partners better serve shoppers and grow their business. As our Senior Analyst, Category Management & Insights, working regularly within the Walmart Scintilla platform as well as Nielsen IQ, you’ll bring Walmart, syndicated, and shopper data together to explain what’s driving category performance and identify opportunities for growth. You’ll own recurring Walmart reporting and develop clear selling stories and shelf recommendations for Walmart and select customers, helping our Sales and cross-functional teams turn category trends into customer plans.

What will you do?

  • Own weekly and monthly reporting in Walmart Scintilla Charter, including modular, new-item, and quality merchandising reports used to inform customer and business decisions.
  • Manage Walmart Retail Link and Item 360 access and item information, including setup, maintenance, and scalable reporting.
  • Analyze retailer, syndicated, and shopper data to identify performance drivers, distribution and in-stock gaps, assortment opportunities, and ways to improve shelf productivity.
  • Track and explain key performance indicators and category trends for Walmart and select additional customers, ensuring reporting is accurate and useful for decisions.
  • Develop category selling stories and planogram recommendations that translate category, shopper, and competitive insights into customer growth opportunities.
  • Prepare customer-facing analytics for line reviews, innovation meetings, and ongoing discussions with Walmart merchants and other customer partners.
  • Partner with Consumer Insights, Sales Planning, Supply Chain, Brand, Retail Media, and digital content teams to apply retailer and shopper learnings to category strategies, innovation plans, and customer recommendations.

You bring the following capabilities to the role:

  • Act as a system expert for syndicated and panel data resources: Scintilla Charter, Retail Link, Item 360 (Supplier One), and Nielsen IQ.
  • Build persuasive category stories and present data clearly to customer merchants, account teams, and senior leaders.
  • Apply sound category management judgment across assortment, distribution, shelf placement, space, merchandising, and innovation.
  • Build trusted relationships and influence partners through preparation, customer understanding, and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Create accurate, repeatable reporting and tools, with strong attention to data accuracy.
  • Work across functions, manage competing priorities, and take initiative in a changing environment.
  • Travel to Kodiak’s Park City headquarters, Walmart meetings, and other customer locations as business needs require.

Your experience should clearly demonstrate:

  • Experience in category management, customer insights, or sales analytics in consumer-packaged goods (CPG Industry), retail, or a related environment, with examples of translating data into customer-facing recommendations.
  • Experience in Walmart data and Scintilla is required; experience with Scintilla Charter, Retail Link, Item 360 or similar retailer platforms is highly valued.
  • Strong working experience using syndicated sources such as Circana, Nielsen IQ, or SPINS to assess category, shopper, and competitive performance.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with a record of building reporting and communicating findings in a clear, decision-ready format.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, analytics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
