ROLE SUMMARY

Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) is the part of Pfizer that brings approved medicines to patients. Within PGS, the Site Supply Transformation organization ensures that manufacturing sites have the processes and systems they need to plan and execute the flow of materials as efficiently and effectively as possible, driving data accuracy, continuous improvement and innovative ways of working.

The role of the Senior MRP Process and System Owner is to lead the global business process ownership for the assigned systems, data and reporting that underpin Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Procured Inventory Management and Materials Management across the manufacturing network.

The overall responsibility of the role is to ensure a reliable, cost-efficient supply of materials into and through our manufacturing sites, through disciplined MRP execution, sound planning parameters and optimized inventory levels. This is a global role.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as global lead and business process owner for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Procured Inventory Management across the assigned site network, including the related materials management and material flow processes.
  • Define and codify the standard MRP and inventory management processes and master data — including MRP types, lot-sizing procedures, safety stock, reorder points and planning lead times — and the level of tailoring required across sites and the network.
  • Drive the network planning and inventory optimization strategy — including safety stock policy, days-of-inventory-on-hand targets and reduction of Distressed Inventory — and deploy the associated improvement projects with above-site stakeholders.
  • Define and own the implementation and monitoring of the global MRP and inventory management metrics for assigned sites (for example inventory accuracy, MRP exception management, days of inventory on hand, and material availability and service level), ensuring global guidance and governance is followed.
  • Provide ongoing business support by monitoring MRP execution and inventory health, managing planning exceptions and supporting issue resolution across the assigned sites.
  • Partner closely with Site Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Digital and Global Supply Chain (GSC) partners to define and prioritize MRP and inventory improvement strategies.
  • Deploy new MRP and inventory management capabilities for the assigned sites.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of
experience; OR a master's degree with at least 5 years of experience; OR a PhD with 1+ years of experience
  • Experienced in ERP/MRP-driven material planning and inventory management activities.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), including planning parameter setup, MRP run and exception management, and planning master data governance.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and optimization, including safety stock policy, inventory accuracy and cycle counting, inventory reduction and working capital improvement.
  • Proven experience in acting as a change manager for business process changes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of planning and material flow processes in a pharmaceutical site, particularly the planning and movement of goods into and through the site.
  • Ability to work in a complex matrix organization, with strong teamwork orientation, in an environment of competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have demonstrated consultative, influencing, analytical, strategic thinking/planning and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interact, build effective relationships, and influence leaders at all levels of the organization is imperative.
  • Solid oral and written communication, presentation and project management skills are required. Excellent targeted messaging skills are a requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with materials and advanced planning systems (for example SAP IBP, APO or Kinaxis) and MRP optimization in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven technical experience with SAP (ECC and/or S/4HANA) — primarily MM, PP/MRP and LE modules.
  • Experience leading and managing global cross-functional matrixed project teams.
  • Experience with inventory and planning analytics, KPI reporting and data analytics tools and methodologies.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel requirements: 20%.
  • Ability to communicate across regions, countries, cultures and time zones.
  • Due to the global nature of the role, may require periodic out-of-hours meetings.
