Major Job Responsibilities Develop Electrical Center (EC) products and assemblies using customer requirements, Aptiv EC design/process standards, best practices, and design guidelines. Lead the EC product development process, ensuring timely completion of internal design reviews. Create robust designs using analysis tools such as Mold Flow, FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack analysis while meeting cost, performance, and manufacturing requirements. Apply GD&T to components and assemblies. Prepare Validation Plans, DFMEAs, test reports, and DFM review materials. Partner with Project Management to develop and manage timing plans for mechanical components and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Electrical, Systems Engineering, and Testing teams to ensure mechanical component and assembly requirements are met. Generate cost estimates, change orders, RFQs, and other EC design documentation accurately and on time. Develop and deliver technical presentations to customers. Support customer design reviews, design validation activities, and vehicle/bench builds. Specific Skills Skill and experience in the design of electrical-mechanical assemblies for automotive applications. Examples include electrical centers (aka fuse boxes, PDCs, PDBs), connector assemblies, electrical terminals, plastic housings and similar.
