Spectrum Search is partnered with an early-stage AI software company hiring a Strategic Account Director to win and grow major enterprise relationships. This opportunity combines ownership of complex sales with the scope to shape account strategy and support international expansion.
About the opportunity
The company develops AI software that helps enterprise customers streamline operational workflows, capture information and reduce manual documentation.
It is expanding its commercial team and looking for an accomplished enterprise seller who can build opportunities from the ground up. The environment suits someone who combines disciplined account planning with direct prospecting, executive relationship development and confident commercial negotiation.
The package includes uncapped commission and equity participation. Strong performers may have opportunities to progress into regional sales leadership as the organisation expands.
The role
This is a full-time individual contributor position with responsibility for a focused portfolio of strategic target accounts.
The successful candidate will own the complete sales cycle, from identifying an entry point and securing initial engagement through to negotiating contracts and developing the relationship. Sales typically involve multiple stakeholders, senior decision-makers and cycles lasting six to nine months or longer.
Success requires the ability to establish credibility without relying on an established brand, understand complex buying processes and build a compelling commercial case for adoption.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute account plans for a defined portfolio of major enterprise prospects.
- Generate opportunities through targeted outreach, relationship building and stakeholder mapping.
- Build trusted relationships with senior executives, budget holders and other decision-makers.
- Lead complex enterprise sales cycles, including discovery, trials, commercial proposals and contract negotiations.
- Close substantial enterprise agreements and identify opportunities to expand customer relationships.
- Navigate procurement processes, competing priorities and internal decision-making structures.
- Take ownership of revenue targets and maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline development.
- Support expansion into new international markets through account development and client engagement.
Essential requirements
- A proven record of personally closing seven-figure enterprise contracts.
- Experience selling to large enterprise organisations and engaging directly with executive leadership.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles lasting six to nine months or longer.
- Evidence of opening enterprise accounts from scratch through proactive business development.
- Strong account planning, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to explain personal ownership of previous deals, including the actions taken to secure agreement.
- Confidence operating within an early-stage business and adapting as commercial priorities develop.
- Willingness to work as an individual contributor, attend the London office five days a week and travel to clients.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in enterprise software or AI technology sales.
- Experience developing international accounts or entering new markets.
- A client-facing consulting or investment banking background with direct involvement in winning business.
- Experience supporting organisational change during enterprise technology adoption.
Location and remote setup
Based in London, with five days per week working in the office and approximately 25% client travel.
Visa transfers may be considered, subject to eligibility and confirmation of the applicable UK immigration route.
