Strategic Projects Lead, Legal

About the Role

Join an applied AI research team as a Strategic Projects Lead focused on legal work. You will manage expert-led projects that create high-quality datasets for advanced AI systems, while partnering with internal teams on research and company-wide initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Build and manage client relationships, owning project delivery from planning through completion.

• Work with leading AI research organizations to develop datasets that advance model capabilities.

• Manage teams of experts across legal, finance, software engineering, and scientific domains.

• Collaborate with internal teams on AI research and support operational initiatives across the company.

• Take ownership of high-priority projects and help shape how the team works as an early hire.

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of substantive legal experience in a leading law firm, an in-house legal team, a government or regulatory body, a legal technology startup, or legal consulting.

• A JD or equivalent qualification, an undergraduate degree from the US, Canada, or Europe, and a strong academic background.

• Experience drafting, negotiating, litigating, or providing legal advice, with deep legal reasoning and research skills.

• Strong communication and client management skills, high agency, and the ability to own projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to work a demanding schedule, including weekdays, half-days or remote work on Sundays, and 60 or more hours in a week when needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary: $150,000 to $200,000. Visa sponsorship is available.
