At our Berlin site, our employees manufacture key components for ASML lithography systems. As part of our precision manufacturing team, you support the production of optical components, assemblies, and systems made of glass, glass-ceramics, and ceramics for our high-tech small-batch, single-part, and prototype production.

As a Strategic Space Planning Engineer, you will shape the long-term development of production and laboratory facilities across the entire campus. The role focuses on analyzing future space requirements, developing and evaluating different planning scenarios, and creating sustainable concepts to support growth, transformation, and evolving business needs. You will operate in an environment characterized by continuous change and long-term strategic decision-making.

The emphasis of this role is on strategic space and site planning rather than the operational planning or optimization of day-to-day manufacturing processes, such as material flow planning or cycle time improvements.

Role and responsibilities

As a Strategic Space Planning Engineer, you will:

• Own and further develop the long-term space planning process for cross-functional space demand planning across manufacturing, research, and development areas.
• Coordinate annual planning cycles with business stakeholders and translate future requirements into an integrated space development plan.
• Analyze, model, validate, and interpret complex data to enable sustainable planning decisions.
• Conduct scenario analyses and feasibility assessments to evaluate future space requirements and development options.
• Develop, challenge, and optimize space and layout concepts to support long-term campus objectives.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented planning measures, identify improvement opportunities, and continuously enhance planning approaches and processes.
• Prepare decision-making materials and recommendations for senior stakeholders and contribute to the long-term strategic development of factory and campus planning.

Education and experience

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Factory Planning, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Several years of experience planning and developing space concepts and space requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of demand planning, scenario modeling, and data-driven decision-making processes.
• Experience analyzing large datasets, evaluating data quality, and translating analytical findings into robust planning recommendations.
• Good understanding of industrial facilities, technical infrastructure, and the spatial requirements of technical equipment and organizational functions.
• Experience working with planning and visualization tools, including CAD-based environments.
• Professional proficiency in German and English.

Als Ingenieur:in Strategische Flächenplanung gestaltest du die langfristige Entwicklung von Produktions- und Laborflächen auf dem gesamten Campus. Im Fokus stehen die Analyse zukünftiger Flächenbedarfe, die Entwicklung und Bewertung verschiedener Szenarien sowie die Erarbeitung nachhaltiger Konzepte für Wachstum, Transformation und sich stetig wandelnde Geschäftsanforderungen. Dabei bewegst du dich in einem Umfeld, das von kontinuierlicher Veränderung und langfristigen Entwicklungsentscheidungen geprägt ist.

Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der strategischen Flächen- und Standortplanung und nicht auf der operativen Planung oder Optimierung laufender Produktionsprozesse, beispielsweise im Bereich Materialfluss oder Durchlaufzeiten.

Deine Aufgaben

Als Ingenieur:in Strategische Flächenplanung wirst du:

• den langfristigen Flächenplanungsprozess der bereichsübergreifenden Flächenbedarfsplanung für Fertigungs-, Forschungs-, Entwicklungsbereiche verantworteten und weiterentwickeln.
• jährliche Planungszyklen mit den Fachbereichen koordinieren und zukünftige Bedarfe in eine integrierte Flächenentwicklungsplanung überführen.
• komplexe Daten analysieren, modellieren, validieren und interpretieren, um nachhaltige Planungsentscheidungen zu ermöglichen.
• Szenarioanalysen und Machbarkeitsbewertungen durchführen, um zukünftige Flächenbedarfe sowie Entwicklungsoptionen zu bewerten.
• Flächen- und Layoutkonzepte erarbeiten, kritisch hinterfragen und im Hinblick auf strategische Campusziele optimieren.
• die Wirksamkeit umgesetzter Planungsmaßnahmen bewerten, Verbesserungspotenziale identifizieren und Planungsansätze sowie Prozesse kontinuierlich weiterentwickeln.
• Entscheidungsvorlagen und Empfehlungen für Senior Stakeholder erarbeiten und zur langfristigen strategischen Weiterentwicklung der Fabrik- und Campusplanung beitragen.

Deine Qualifikation

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium im Bereich Ingenieurwissenschaften, Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen, Fabrikplanung oder einer vergleichbaren technischen Fachrichtung.
• Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Planung und Weiterentwicklung von Flächenkonzepten und -bedarfen innerhalb eines Produktionsumfelds.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse in Bedarfsplanung, Szenario Modellierung und datenbasierten Entscheidungsprozessen.
• Erfahrung in der Analyse umfangreicher Datensätze, der Bewertung von Datenqualität sowie der Überführung analytischer Ergebnisse in belastbare Planungsempfehlungen.
• Gutes Verständnis von Industriegebäuden, technischer Infrastruktur und den räumlichen Anforderungen technischer Anlagen sowie organisatorischer Einheiten.
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit Planungs- und Visualisierungstools einschließlich CAD-basierter Umgebungen.
• Verhandlungssichere Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse.
