Job Title: Subject Specialist Advisor (Maths/ICT/Computer Science)

Salary: £35,200 - £45,700 per annum

Location: UK, Cambridge – Hybrid

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week

Are you passionate about your subject and excited by the opportunity to use your expertise to support teachers around the world?

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

As a Subject Specialist Advisor, you'll combine your subject expertise with a passion for education and outstanding customer support. You'll help teachers confidently deliver our qualifications, while using their experiences and feedback to influence how we develop our products, services and support.

About The Role

You'll be a trusted source of subject expertise for schools and teachers, providing high-quality advice across a range of Cambridge International qualifications, including IGCSE, O Level, International AS and A Level.

Working collaboratively with colleagues across Customer Support, Assessment and other teams, you'll make sure teachers receive clear, accurate and helpful guidance. Just as importantly, you'll bring the voice of our customers back into the organisation, helping us continually improve the support we provide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to subject-specific enquiries from schools and teachers via email and telephone.
  • Providing expert guidance across a range of syllabuses and qualifications within your subject area.
  • Working with colleagues to resolve more complex subject and assessment enquiries.
  • Using customer insight and feedback to help improve products, services, guidance and support materials.
  • Supporting our online subject communities by monitoring forums and responding to questions.
  • Creating and maintaining clear and useful Help Centre content.
  • Contributing to stakeholder sessions, promotional events and webinars where required.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

You'll bring a degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) alongside strong professional expertise in Mathematics, ICT or Computer Science. You'll have previous teaching experience at GCSE, A Level or equivalent international qualification level, together with a good understanding of assessment and ideally experience of exam marking. You'll have experience in a leadership position, with responsibilities such as syllabus planning, reviewing student results and supporting or managing colleagues. A confident communicator, you'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to build positive, collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents and colleagues.

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

  • Confidence with customer data/GDPR
  • Ability to manage workload in pressured situations
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
