Substation Engineer Lead – Canton, OH
We're partnering with a large, well-established industrial manufacturer in Northeast Ohio to hire a Substation Engineer Lead supporting critical medium-voltage power distribution infrastructure across a major manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on technical/project leadership role — not a people-management position. It's a strong opportunity for an experienced substation or power systems professional who wants challenging technical work without the travel often associated with this field.
What You'll Do
- Support and troubleshoot medium-voltage power distribution and substations
- Work with transformers, switchgear, breakers and protective relays
- Lead electrical infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects
- Support system reliability, preventive maintenance and root-cause troubleshooting
- Partner with engineering, maintenance, operations and outside contractors
- Lead projects through installation and commissioning
What We're Looking For
- Strong medium-voltage power distribution/substation experience
- Experience with protective relays / protection & controls — SEL, GE, Eaton or similar
- Strong power systems troubleshooting and engineering background
- Utility, power services or heavy industrial/manufacturing backgrounds are all relevant
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, arc-flash, short-circuit or coordination studies is a plus
Compensation & Highlights
- $115K–$160K base salary
- 10% annual bonus opportunity
