About the Company We are a renewable energy and ocean technology company committed to rapidly developing and deploying technologies that will ensure a sustainable future for Earth by unlocking the vast energy potential of its oceans. Our focus is on capturing civilizational levels of ultra-low-cost renewable energy for applications including computing and affordable renewable fuels delivered to shore. The company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and backed by leading venture capitalists, philanthropic investors, university endowments, and private investment offices. We operate as an idea meritocracy in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis. About the Job Our core technology is the node, a device that produces energy in the ocean’s harshest conditions for years at a time without human maintenance or intervention. This role owns the onsite candidate experience and the logistics that make recruiting feel sharp instead of chaotic. You’ll run interview days end-to-end, keep schedules moving, and be the calm, decisive point person when plans change (because they will). You’ll partner closely with recruiters: they drive candidate communication; you drive the operational plan. More broadly, this role exists to support employees and to make every candidate interaction feel thoughtful, smooth, and human. We’re intentional about what we take on—if the work doesn’t either improve employee retention or support healthy growth, it’s probably not the right priority. Responsibilities Own onsite interview days end-to-end: room bookings, agendas, signage/materials, AV basics, and keeping the schedule on track (5–10/week). Be the onsite point person: greet candidates, escort between rooms, handle day-of changes, and make sure everyone gets where they need to be. Partner with recruiters on logistics: recruiters drive candidate communications; you drive the operational plan and keep recruiters looped on any issues or updates. Coordinate hospitality: order/set-up lunch and refreshments, manage dietary needs, and reset rooms between sessions. Keep interview logistics clean and repeatable: templates, checklists, room standards, and a lightweight system so onsite days don’t feel chaotic. Provide general HR admin support: scheduling help, document coordination, and ad hoc People Ops support for recruiting and employee relations as needed. Required Qualifications 1–3+ years in a coordination/admin role where you ran logistics with lots of moving parts (recruiting, HR, EA, events, office ops). Strong calendaring + organization skills (Google Calendar) and comfort working from a tracker/checklist/ATS without things slipping. Calm, service-oriented, and decisive onsite: you can troubleshoot quickly, communicate clearly, and keep the day moving. Discreet and trustworthy with confidential HR information. Desired Qualifications Experience owning high-volume onsite interview days, including multi-loop schedules and frequent day-of changes. Experience using Greenhouse (or a similar ATS) to keep interview plans, feedback, and logistics organized. Comfort with basic AV setup and troubleshooting (Google Meet, screen sharing, conference room basics). Strong Google Sheets skills for trackers, templates, and keeping details from falling through the cracks. Experience building lightweight systems (SOPs, checklists, templates) that make execution repeatable. Experience supporting broader People Ops/HR admin work beyond recruiting (confidential docs, onboarding coordination, ER support logistics). The above qualifications are desired, not required. We encourage you to apply if you are a strong candidate with only some of the desired skills and experience listed. Additional Requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States. Intermittently able to work longer hours and weekends to support critical needs. Full-time role. Compensation and Benefits If hired for this full-time role, you will receive: Cash compensation of $60,000 - $80,000. Equity in the company. We’re all owners and if we’re successful, this equity should be far and away the most valuable component of your compensation. A benefits package that helps you take care of yourself and your family, including: Flexible paid time off Health insurance (the company pays 100% of gold-level PPO plan for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents) Dental insurance (the company pays 100% for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents) Vision insurance (the company pays 100% for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents) Disability insurance (the company pays 100% for a policy to provide long-term financial support if you become disabled) Ability to contribute to tax-advantaged accounts, including 401(k), health FSA, and dependent care FSA Relocation assistance to facilitate your move to Portland (if needed). Location This is an on-site position. Our offices, lab, and shop are located in Portland, Oregon.
