Job Description (JD) – Engineering (HVAC, Facility, Electrical & Mechanical) Position: Engineer / Executive – Facility Engineering Department: Engineering & Utilities Location: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility (GDC/FTO) Purpose of the Role To ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective operation of HVAC systems, utilities, electrical infrastructure, mechanical equipment, facility maintenance, and engineering compliance activities in accordance with GMP, EHS, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. HVAC & Utility Systems Operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust systems, chillers, cooling towers, and cold rooms. Monitoring environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, differential pressure, and air changes. Ensure timely execution of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance. Troubleshooting HVAC and utility-related issues to minimize downtime. Monitoring utility consumption and implementing energy-saving initiatives. Coordination of HVAC qualification, validation, and requalification activities. 2. Electrical Systems Operation and maintenance of HT/LT electrical distribution systems. Maintenance of transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, PCC/MCC panels, APFC panels, and lighting systems. Monitoring power quality and electrical safety compliance. Execution of preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown rectification. Coordination with statutory authorities and electrical vendors. Ensuring safe isolation, LOTO, and electrical safety practices. 3. Mechanical Systems Maintenance of pumps, compressors, boilers, piping systems, valves, and utility equipment. Monitoring equipment performance and reliability. Spare parts management and maintenance planning. Root cause analysis for equipment failures and implementation of corrective actions. Support utility and manufacturing equipment installation and commissioning activities. 4. Facility Management Upkeep of plant infrastructure, roofs, roads, drainage, buildings, and utility areas. Coordination of civil maintenance and facility improvement projects. Vendor management for civil, HVAC, electrical, and AMC/CAMC contracts. Verification and certification of contractor bills, JCS, and work completion reports. Support audits and inspections related to facility engineering. 5. Quality & Compliance Handling Change Controls, Deviations, CAPAs, and Risk Assessments. Support qualification and validation activities. Ensure closure of audit observations and compliance commitments. Preparation and review of SOPs, protocols, reports, and engineering documentation. Compliance with GMP, Data Integrity, EHS, and regulatory requirements. 6. Safety Responsibilities Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and permit-to-work systems. Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments. Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Monitor contractor safety compliance and PPE adherence. Support emergency preparedness and response activities. 7. Engineering Projects- Execution and monitoring of engineering projects. Preparation of URS, technical specifications, BOQs, and technical evaluations. Coordination with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams. Monitoring project timelines, budgets, and quality deliverables. Desired Qualification- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Facility Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 8–15 years of experience in pharmaceutical/ engineering operations. Knowledge of GMP, HVAC compliance, utility systems, electrical distribution, and quality systems. Desired Qualification- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Facility Engineering, or related discipline. Minimum 8 +years of experience in pharmaceutical/ engineering operations. Knowledge of GMP, HVAC compliance, utility systems, electrical distribution, and quality systems. Skills & attributes: Technical Skills Good understating on Pharmaceutical Research and Development operation Technical knowledge in Facility and Plant Engineering, infrastructure building, contractor management. Experience in preventive maintenance and engineering solutions Understanding of Good Engineering Practices. Understanding of relevant regulatory standards. Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Experience in Engineering, Vendor management, Contractor management and safety requirements.
