Technical Coordinator (Construction)

We are looking for an experienced Technical Coordinator to join our growing construction team in Dubai.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in building construction, with experience coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. The role involves managing technical submissions, drawings, approvals, and communication between consultants, engineering teams, subcontractors, and site management to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, identifying discrepancies, clashes, and missing information.
• Manage technical coordination between consultants, site engineers, subcontractors, and specialist contractors.
• Coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and technical documentation, ensuring timely review and approvals.
• Monitor consultant comments, revisions, and resubmissions, following up until final approval.
• Work closely with Project Managers and Planning teams to ensure technical information and approvals are available according to project schedules.
• Coordinate specialist engineering submissions, including post-tensioning, MEP builders' work, and structural details.
• Support authority submissions, NOCs, and other required technical approvals.
• Assist Procurement and Commercial teams with technical RFQ packages, specifications, and evaluation of proposed alternatives.
• Maintain accurate engineering registers, track outstanding technical issues, and provide regular progress updates.
• Ensure approved drawings and technical documents are properly distributed to relevant project teams.
• Coordinate technical handover documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and required approvals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical coordination experience in construction, including experience on UAE building projects.
• Previous experience with a main contractor in the UAE is highly preferred.
• Experience in high-rise residential or commercial building projects is a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and coordination processes.
• Proven experience managing shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, and consultant approvals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and document management systems.
• Knowledge of Revit or Navisworks is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively with different project stakeholders.
• Good command of English.
