We're seeking a skilled Technician to join our team at Moa Point's Sludge Minimisation Facility. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and monitoring of advanced sludge treatment processes, working as part of an integrated team to ensure optimal plant performance and site compliance.

What you'll be responsible for
Operational Excellence
Monitor and operate dewatering, THP, anaerobic digestion, and thermal dryer units
Execute daily operational routines including process monitoring, sampling, and testing
Optimise process control parameters using SCADA systems
Respond to process alarms and implement corrective actions
Maintain accurate operational data records and detailed logs
Collaborate with Moa Point WWTP teams to ensure integrated plant performance
Maintenance & Continuous Improvement
Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities
Identify and report potential equipment issues before failure
Assist in developing and refining operational procedures for NZ conditions
Contribute to SOP optimisation and documentation
Safety & Compliance
Drive compliance with contractual obligations, resource consent requirements, and H&S regulations
Promote a proactive safety culture and participate in safety audits
Manage chemical deliveries and inventory levels
Report and investigate safety hazards and incidents
What you'll need to be successful
Essential Experience
Demonstrated expertise in wastewater treatment processes (anaerobic digestion and thermal drying advantageous)
Proven problem-solving skills and ability to maintain accurate work records
Experience with CMMS systems
Proficiency in SCADA systems and process control
Strong technical abilities and attention to detail
Qualifications (Preferred)
Electrical and/or Mechanical certification (Fitter & Turner or similar)
Basic understanding of ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO55000, or ISO50001
