The Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of cranes, rolling stock, and lifting equipment to ensure that a high standard of maintenance is consistently achieved. Operating from the local repair centre or workshop, you will work to prevent and resolve equipment failures in full compliance with Sarens' quality, safety, health, and environmental regulations, as well as local legislation and manufacturers' guidelines. Prepare, locate, lift, and install wind turbine generator (WTG) components. Install nacelle, hub, and tower components during turbine assembly. Connect blades to the hub and perform rotor preparation and installation activities. Prepare and stage hubs and safely handle, lift, and torque blades. Complete service reports, worksheets, and installation documentation daily. Identify required tools and parts and ensure equipment certification remains valid. Verify tool and material availability before starting work. Participate in toolbox talks and daily team briefings. Report improvement ideas that enhance safety, quality, or productivity. Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, environmental requirements, and statutory regulations. ABOUT YOU You are a skilled technician with experience in wind turbine construction, installation and maintenance activities. You combine strong technical knowledge with a proactive attitude and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. You enjoy working in challenging environments, sharing your expertise with colleagues, and delivering reliable solutions that keep projects moving forward. Required: Diploma in a related discipline from an accredited institution or ITI qualification. 3-4 years of experience in wind construction with any OEM. In-depth understanding of wind turbine components, including electrical pitch systems. Experience supporting installation and MCC (Motor Control Center) activities. Ability and willingness to work weekends, public holidays, shift patterns, or on-call duties when required. Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Willingness to train and mentor colleagues. Competence in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) standards. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Effective problem-solving and fault-finding abilities. Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines. Preferred: Strong understanding of wind turbine construction and commissioning activities.
