In This Role
You will work closely with our hardware team to ensure high-quality, repeatable production of our actuators and robot systems. You will help make the hardware and process better through your feedback.
- Mechanical Assembly, Manufacturing & Build Execution: You will be responsible for the mechanical build, assembly, and manufacturing steps of our robot systems
- Fabrication & Prototyping Support: You will help produce custom parts (fixtures, jigs, and production parts) using manufacturing machines and 3D printers and feedback ways to improve/streamline the process.
- In-Process Quality Control: You will perform systematic in-process QC against our quality metrics and log results to keep production traceable.
- Machine Uptime and Maintenance: You will own the upkeep of our core machines and perform routine servicing, calibration and troubleshooting.
- You will help grow the workshop itself: improving layout, tooling, and workflows as we scale.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on mechanical assembly, comfort with workshop tools (calipers, soldering irons, power drills), 3D printing, and basic machine operation.
- Technical Background: A relevant trade qualification (e.g., Polymechanic, Automation Technician, Electronics Technician, or similar apprenticeship) or equivalent hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, mechatronics, or electrical systems in a professional setting.
- Problem Solving: The ability to troubleshoot hardware issues independently and critically analyze your own work to find improvements.
- Reads engineering drawings fluently and works independently from written instructions
- Attention to Detail: A preference for an organized, functional workspace and a systematic approach to technical tasks.
- Fluent in English or in German but with at least basic English skills (A2/B1) and a willingness to learn (we are an international team)
- Have experience in mold-making or potting/encapsulation or electric motor production
- Are a hands-on tinkerer and have built your own robots, RC planes, or custom 3D printers, or similar in your spare time. Send us pictures or a portfolio!
- Have CAD drawing and prototyping experience
- Have experience with heavy duty workshop tools like lathe, mill, CNC, etc.
