The Opportunity
Exciting opportunities across two divisions for telecommunication professionals to take your telecommunications experience into the critical infrastructure environment, where the systems you work on directly support the operation, protection and development of South Australia’s electricity transmission network.
Working across a mix of established and evolving telecommunications technologies, you’ll collaborate with specialists across engineering, projects, operations, asset management, cyber security and external delivery partners. Depending on where your experience sits, there are two pathways:
Assets: Telecommunications Asset Analyst or Specialist
If you enjoy working close to the operational network, solving technical problems and keeping critical infrastructure performing at its best, our Assets opportunity could be for you.
You’ll help manage the performance, reliability and security of ElectraNet’s telecommunications environment, with work spanning network monitoring and optimisation, fault finding, commissioning, configuration, restoration and technical support. You could work across microwave and mobile radio, optical fibre, IP/MPLS, PDH/SDH, network management systems and associated infrastructure.
We’re open to candidates at Analyst or Specialist level, allowing us to consider people with strong hands-on telecommunications experience as well as those bringing deeper specialist network capability.
Delivery: Experienced Telecommunications Engineer
If your experience is more focused on engineering, design and project delivery, our Delivery team offers the opportunity to help shape telecommunications solutions across ElectraNet’s project portfolio.
You’ll contribute across the project lifecycle, from developing telecommunications scopes and specifications and reviewing designs through to network integration, commissioning, technical investigations and operational handover. You’ll work closely with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and our Assets teams to ensure telecommunications solutions are safe, technically sound and ready for operation.
We’re looking for an experienced Telecommunications Engineer with strong telecommunications design and integration capability and a relevant Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related tertiary qualification.
For this opportunity, we’re seeking an experienced engineer with a tertiary qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or a relevant discipline, together with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.
About You
Across these opportunities, we’re interested in telecommunication professionals with:
- Demonstrated telecommunications industry experience.
- Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of telecommunications technologies such as microwave radio, optical fibre, IP/MPLS, PDH, SDH or WDM.
- Network integration, commissioning or fault finding
- Working in technically complex, safety-focused environments
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving capability
You’ll also be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, can communicate confidently across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and takes genuine ownership of safe, reliable outcomes.
