The opportunity 

QBE Europe is currently recruiting a Testing Lead to join our Technology & Transformation function in our London office. The purpose of this role is to oversee the implementation and delivery of third-party application testing, by contributing to strategic vision, prioritizing service management strategies, building relationships with vendors and key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance and effectiveness of testing functions to meet service level agreements.

Your new role

  • Support the transition of testing processes to third-party vendors by developing efficient transfer plans within assigned areas.

  • Coordinate and schedule delivery of outsourced testing services within the area of responsibility by researching business requirements.

  • Manage third-party testing operations within assigned areas by reviewing vendor strategies, coordinating training, and communicating with leadership.

  • Ensure vendor achievement of service level agreements by reviewing and documenting testing results and evaluating third-party operations for quality and adherence to schedule and budget requirements.

  • Guide compliance of outsourced testing processes by conducting regular audits, communicating policies, identifying risks, and escalating issues as required.

  • Ensure proper usage of available tools to maximise QA benefits, including testing tools for functional, performance, and automation.

  • Monitor all QA activities, test results, and leaked defects, conduct root cause analysis, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Develop an effective testing framework aligned with global standards to drive outsourcing objectives, efficiencies, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Publish standards for test & code quality practices, maintain oversight of Test Automation and QA Engineering, and support alignment of services with business needs.

  • Identify and assess risks within your subject matter area, lead risk-related dialogue as the SME for that domain, and support stakeholders in making informed, risk-based decisions. Mitigate risks in delivery while keeping to agreed plan and timeframes

About you

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Extensive experience using testing methodologies and tools.

  • Some experience leading testing teams.

  • Thrives on taking ownership of a function and being proactive.

Preferred Work Experience includes:
