Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) integrates, verifies, and validates our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers.

The Effectors Center in the SE&TC Directorate is seeking a Transition To Production (TTP) Lead overseeing the Maritime Strike Tomahawk’s (MST) seeker and dependency contracts to yield Initial Operational Capability (IOC) missile assemblies. They will be responsible for coordination across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Functional areas including operations, program leadership, engineering leadership and government program office counterparts.

This position is Onsite in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do

  • Will be a core team member of the program’s Munitions Acceleration Team ensuring seamless transition of a new configuration into production spaces across Tucson, AZ and Camden, AR
  • Will be responsible for presenting in portfolio Core Control Room (CCR) in which attendance often includes SBU president, SSBU vice president, CGO, government leadership, and portfolio senior leadership
  • Establish and manage a product vision, strategy, and goals to align with multiple contracts and facilitate production line conflict resolution with respect to schedule and capacity to include (Inchstone Plan & Master Phasing Schedule)
  • Conduct weekly critical path analysis and host meetings with program and operations stakeholders
  • Government collaboration with the Configuration Accounting Requirements List (CARL), Contracts letters, transportation, Class 1 Engineering Change Proposal
  • Involvement in Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), Systems Verification Review (SVR)
  • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements
  • Support program ERB/CCB to incorporate TDP updates and variances per SRs/QNs/CRs
  • Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities, obsolescence resolution, and other continuous improvement efforts
  • Drive completion and production release of upper-level assemblies post sub-system qualification, work instructions, and test equipment TDP

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and/or a minimum and 10 years’ of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 8 years’ of engineering experience
  • Technical leadership experience across the development lifecycle
  • Experience developing work plans, driving execution, and leading engineering teams, experience leading and conducting missile trade studies, missile system development and design, missile systems requirements development and management, and/or missile system integration and test
  • Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets
  • Experience in strategic development, customer interface, and/or contract capture in the Defense Industry

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
  • Experience interacting across multiple business units with business partners, customers, senior leadership
  • Experience working on multiple subsystem development program
  • Experience in leading and executing the design and development of complex system architectures
  • Experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, and production
  • Experience and ability to interact with and influence Department of Defense (DoD), and/or commercial and non-traditional customer sets
  • Ability to develop effective internal and external customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and continued business
  • Experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
