ROLE OVERVIEW

The Travel Technician will operate, maintain, and repair load testing equipment primarily at our mission critical sites but occasionally in the shop as well. This role adheres to all company safety and quality standards and provides daily updates and reporting as requested.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to the safety program and procedures that keep coworkers, customers, and others safe at all times.
Follow the company's quality management system, including processes and procedures to deliver the best quality equipment and services.
Fill and return equipment orders.
Operate industrial lifting equipment to load/unload trucks, storage racks, and reposition equipment.
Inspect, test, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Provide in-the-field technician service at customer sites.
Represent Patriot Power Services and demonstrate professionalism and expertise as leaders in the industry.
Collaborate with other team members to execute goals and objectives.
Continuously improve, learn, and adapt to the changing environment of a customer-focused rental and management startup business.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Load bank, generator, chiller, or other equipment operation and repair work preferred.
Electrical training preferred.
Troubleshooting skills preferred.
Schematic reading skills preferred.
Field technician work a plus.
Data center or commissioning knowledge a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability and willingness to pass background and clearance checks to enter customer sites.
Valid driver's license; must be able to be reasonably insured to drive company vehicles.
High School Diploma or GED.
OSHA 30 preferred.
First Aid/CPR/AED preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position may operate in a combination of office, remote, and active construction site environments, depending on project assignment and business needs. Employees must be able to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in both professional and field conditions.

Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain when on-site.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Must be able to travel to and between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
Must be able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions and exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and construction-related odors.
Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and other personnel while maintaining situational awareness in high-activity environments.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots are required when visiting or working on active construction sites.
This role requires visual acuity sufficient to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
