About the role We are looking for a passionate Ventilation Engineer to join our growing underground mining operations in New South Wales. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in shaping safe, productive and sustainable mining environments while working alongside highly experienced Technical Services and Operational teams. From optimising underground airflow and solving complex ventilation challenges to supporting the future growth of our operations, you'll have a genuine impact on the success of our mines every day. Roster: 8/6 (Dayshift only) Location: Cobar Region, NSW Travel Options Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain ventilation management plans Conduct ventilation surveys and analysis Model and optimise underground airflow requirements Monitor compliance with ventilation standards and regulations Support operational and technical teams with ventilation advice Identify opportunities to improve safety and efficiency Qualifications and experience Essential Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification Minimum 4-5 years' experience in underground hard rock mining environments Practical experience in mine ventilation planning, monitoring and optimisation Experience conducting ventilation surveys and analysing ventilation performance Proficiency with VentSim or equivalent ventilation modelling software Strong understanding of underground mining methods, mine planning and operational requirements Current driver's licence Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Highly Desirable Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation Experience in a statutory Ventilation Engineer capacity Familiarity with Australian mining legislation and ventilation standards Experience supporting or leading ventilation improvement projects Exposure to Deswik and other mine planning software MAKE AN IMPACT, GET RECOGNISED – BE AN AURELIAN At Aurelia Metals, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
