Patient Care — Examine program animals, review diagnostics, and communicate findings to rescue partners. Medical Decision‑Making — Provide final medical decisions and perform necessary medical procedures. DEA & Compliance — Maintain DEA licensure and controlled substance logs, including supply levels and expiration tracking. Regulatory Standards — Ensure medical records meet AVMA and USDA requirements. Instructional Excellence Classroom & Lab Instruction — Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, and daily lesson plans. Competency Tracking — Monitor hands‑on lab competencies and confirm student skill levels. Student Success — Maintain an 80% student success rate and implement retention plans when needed. Academic Administration — Maintain accurate grades, prepare final evaluations, and coordinate with Student Services on attendance concerns. Community Engagement — Arrange guest speakers, field trips, and clinic/hospital visits. Externship Support — Assist with externship coordination as needed. Safety & Professionalism — Monitor students in lab settings and ensure all safety protocols are followed. Who You Are Clinically Skilled: Able to demonstrate anesthesia machines, monitors, surgical equipment, and restraint techniques. Student‑Focused: Skilled at evaluating student performance and adapting instruction to adult learners. Strong Communicator: Effective verbal and written communication with students, faculty, and rescue partners. Physically Capable: Able to safely demonstrate lifting and restraint required of veterinary nurses. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Must graduate with a degree certifying Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Licensed Veterinarian in the state in which the campus is located. Three (3) years of experience as a DVM in a clinic, hospital or shelter environment. Must hold current license, certification or other designation as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field. Verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills with experience in basic word processing and spreadsheet documents. Experience with visual computer presentation preferred. #ID1
