Full-time opportunity in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

Schedule: Full-time

Why Join Maritime Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center

At Maritime Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, you’ll have the rare opportunity to build a Critical Care service from the ground up within a 24,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art specialty and emergency hospital. If you’re excited by the opportunity to shape a department, influence equipment decisions, and help define how Critical Care grows, you’ll have a meaningful voice in the future of the service.

You’ll manage complex cases alongside an established team of specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Exotics, Neurology, Cardiology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation, with the support of a strong 24/7 Emergency team. Your expertise will play an important role in expanding the hospital’s ability to provide advanced critical care to patients throughout the local veterinary community.

Our hospital is equipped to support high-acuity medicine, with separate canine and feline ICUs, multiple Snyder oxygen kennels, high-flow oxygen, comprehensive in-house laboratory capabilities, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, MRI, defibrillation, and invasive blood pressure monitoring. Just as importantly, you’ll join a team that prioritizes continual education, collaboration, and the professional growth of its people.

Location Highlight

Dartmouth is part of the Halifax Regional Municipality, offering the relaxed pace and welcoming community of Nova Scotia’s East Coast alongside the amenities of a vibrant urban center. You’ll have easy access to beaches, lakes, parks, farmers’ markets, festivals, diverse restaurants, and year-round outdoor recreation—making it easy to enjoy life both inside and outside the hospital.

Perks & Benefits

Benefits for this role may include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), retirement benefits, paid time off (including sick leave and vacation), short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
