You'll be supported by: Two Internal Medicine Specialists One Registrar One Intern Six dedicated Internal Medicine nurses Strong referral relationships and close collaboration with Surgery and ECC services Advanced diagnostic and imaging capabilities including MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, chemotherapy suite and endoscopy facilities. The Opportunity As the Internal Medicine Specialist you will be part of our dedicated Internal Medicine Department providing services across the surrounding Melbourne Suburbs based in Essendon Fields. What Does a Typical Day Look Like? Our team manages a diverse and rewarding caseload, investigating and managing our own Internal Medicine cases while also providing specialised procedures and diagnostic imaging support for our Emergency and Critical Care service. The role offers genuine flexibility. You may choose a mix of consultations, rechecks and procedure time, or structure dedicated procedure days depending on your clinical interests and preferred working style. Caseload volume can be tailored to suit your expertise and career goals. Common procedures include: Endoscopy, including balloon dilation Feeding tube placement (O-tube and PEG) CT and MRI interpretation Abdominal and thoracic ultrasound Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirates Bone marrow biopsies Joint taps Bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) Swallow studies Work-Life Balance That Actually Works We understand that flexibility matters. Full-time roster of 8:30am to 6:00pm, four days per week Part-time and flexible arrangements available School-friendly hours considered No after-hours roster No routine on-call requirements. About You We're seeking a veterinarian who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and enjoys collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment. You will be: A registered Specialist or Residency-Trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine A Fellow of ANZCVS or Diplomate of ACVIM or ECVIM or residency trained Experienced in mentoring and supporting colleagues Passionate about clinical excellence, innovation and team development We also welcome applications from candidates who have completed residency training and are preparing to sit board examinations.
