Job Title : Veterinary Surgeon - Certificate Holder Salary : Up to £80,000 per annum (D.O.E.) plus Relocation package available Location : Blacks Veterinary Practices, West-Midlands Job Type : Permanent, full-time and part-time applicants welcomed Hours : 40 hours per week, with a 1:10 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and 1:5 Saturdays with time back in Lieu Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a certificate in Surgery or Medicine, looking for your next opportunity? We are a small animal, first opinion hospital offering 24-hour care with a strong vet team of 19, including 6 Certificate holders in cardiology, dermatology, medicine, and surgery (both soft tissue and orthopaedic), plus fellow Vets currently studying further certificates. Cutting-Edge Facilities: Our practices have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical equipment—including CT, a fully equipped dental suite, 12 operating theatres, digital X-ray, ultrasound, Endoscopy, and an in-house laboratory. A supportive nursing team , including certificate holders and colleagues currently studying towards further qualifications. ​Exceptional Caseload: Our size, highly insured client base, and varied surgical caseload mean we can support advanced skill sets, complex procedures, and your continued professional development aspirations. Clinical Excellence : We have constantly pushed the boundaries on delivering the highest pet care through the calibre and qualifications of our Vets and Nurses and through the friendliness and professionalism of our Client Care teams. Linnaeus Network: We work closely with our network of referral sites within Linnaeus, giving you a massive platform for knowledge sharing and collaborative clinical progression. As a progressive, growing and highly successful practice, we are always on the lookout for outstanding team members to join our award-winning friendly team, at our accredited Veterinary Hospital in Dudley and our surrounding local branches (on the edge of the West Midlands, but all within 30 mins of Birmingham City Centre). Not only do we have great clinical facilities, we also have a spacious break room - including posh coffees! We have a dedicated night team on site that covers all OOH work. Our last appointment is at 6.30pm during weekdays, and weekend work is shared fairly amongst the team on a rota basis - with time back in lieu the following week. What we are looking for We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is confident across a broad range of first-opinion cases and is passionate about delivering consistently high standards of patient and client care. You’ll be: RCVS registered , with extensive veterinary experience and a strong clinical foundation across first-opinion practice. A confident and capable clinician with a genuine interest in championing clinical excellence and supporting colleagues through mentoring, particularly within surgical or medical workflows. Collaborative and team-focused , with a commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical and surgical care. An excellent communicator who can explain complex diagnoses, treatment options and clinical guidance clearly, with empathy, professionalism and confidence . Someone who enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting the development of others and contributing positively to a caring and supportive team.
