My client is seeking a Vice President of Business Change Management to lead business change, operational optimisation and continuous improvement across its Contract Logistics activities in North America and Latin America and pivoting towards supplying hyperscalers and the data industry.
The position will lead functional area heads across an organisational structure of approximately 150 people and will report into the relevant leadership structure.
Responsibilities:
- Leading business change, optimisation and operational excellence across Contract Logistics in North America and Latin America.
- Supporting rapid and scaled rollouts for hyperscaler customers.
- Structuring and governing complex, multi-phase projects from initiation through implementation.
- Translating business requirements into technology and implementation roadmaps without needing to be the technical builder.
- Driving execution across the United States while providing strategic oversight to operations in Canada and Latin America.
- Leading functional area heads across project management and training, applications and integrations, process engineering, continuous improvement, operations and launch support, and S3HQ.
- Translating strategic priorities into practical, executable roadmaps.
- Identifying downstream implications of business and operational decisions and ensuring appropriate plans are in place.
- Structuring and governing complex, multi-phase projects from initiation through implementation.
- Translating business requirements into technology and implementation roadmaps without needing to be the technical builder.
- Designing and launching new contract logistics programmes and building processes for new business from the ground up.
- Driving continuous improvement and process optimisation across operational environments.
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing sustainable improvements within operational and commercial constraints.
- Supporting day-to-day operational performance, including staffing, productivity, facility management and network planning.
- Ensuring new operations, launches and ramp-ups are delivered on time and to specification.
- Embedding regulatory compliance, quality standards and sustainability considerations into operational decision-making.
Requirements:
- Several years’ experience in a VP-level or equivalent operating role, such as VP, COO, Senior Director, Managing Director or a comparable position within a major logistics or 3PL organisation.
- Direct experience in 3PL and contract logistics is essential.
- Proven experience leading across multiple functional areas, ideally including project management, applications and integrations, process engineering, continuous improvement, operations and safety, security, sustainability and quality.
- Strong operational understanding, including experience building, managing or optimising contract logistics operations.
- Experience working with hyperscaler customers or in fast-moving, scaled logistics environments.
- Strong understanding of operational economics and the relationship between cost, quality, service, compliance and productivity.
- Experience designing, launching or ramping up new contract logistics programmes.
- Ability to assess operational environments at ground level, identify issues and develop practical improvement plans.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems, applications, integrations and APIs, with the ability to lead technology-related change without needing to be a technical specialist.
- A strategic and systems-oriented mindset, with the ability to connect organisational dependencies and anticipate operational consequences.
- Strong change leadership skills, including the ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining direction, accountability and leadership presence.
- Confident and effective in meetings with senior customers, internal commercial teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong communication, influence and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable leading constructive debate, challenging assumptions and building support across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Lean, Six Sigma or formal continuous improvement certification would be advantageous.
- Experience in both North American and Latin American markets would be advantageous.
