The role includes office-based leadership, visits to client communities, and travel as needed, which may include travel to Keystone’s corporate office in California. Evening, weekend, or on-call availability may occasionally be required based on business and client needs. Candidates currently located in or near the Raleigh market are preferred. Relocation assistance may be considered on a case-by-case basis. The role is performed primarily in a typical office environment with low-level noise exposure and requires the ability to sit, stand, operate standard business equipment, frequently use a telephone or headset, visit communities for meetings, and move throughout properties during site inspections. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership Set, communicate, and execute the strategic direction for Community Management across North Carolina in alignment with Keystone’s business plan, mission, vision, and core values. Identify training and development needs and ensure team members receive the coaching, resources, and preparation required to succeed. Financial & Performance Management Establish and administer the department budget with disciplined financial oversight and sound business judgment. Define expectations, monitor results, and ensure the Community Management team consistently performs against its goals. Provide the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership with periodic performance reports, metrics, and clear insight into progress and risk. Use operational and financial analysis to identify problems, improve execution, and support informed decisions. Collaborate across departments and divisions to align priorities, remove barriers, and carry out organizational goals. Support sales and marketing through client acquisition strategy, proposals, presentations, and business development initiatives. Represent North Carolina’s operational and client perspective in enterprise decisions while helping the new market scale responsibly. Cross-Functional Leadership You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, executive leadership, sales and marketing, recruiting, and other operational teams. Your role is to connect North Carolina’s client and team needs with enterprise priorities, create alignment across functions, and ensure decisions translate into effective execution. The ability to lead and influence change, supervise and develop others, and navigate client conflict with excellent service judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build credibility with clients, teams, and executive peers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and work effectively within CINC, Strongroom, SharePoint, and other business systems used by Keystone. Preferred Qualifications One or more professional community association management designations, such as the CMCA or PCAM, are highly desirable. What Success Looks Like Within approximately 12 to 18 months, the successful leader will have: Established a clear strategy and operating foundation for Community Management across North Carolina. Created strong relationships with key clients and a reliable approach for resolving concerns and sustaining satisfaction. Implemented useful budgets, performance measures, and reporting rhythms that support timely executive decisions. Strengthened coordination across Keystone’s departments and contributed meaningfully to companywide strategic priorities. Supported market growth and business development while maintaining consistent service and operational discipline. How You Lead You are proactive, future-focused, and comfortable establishing direction when every answer is not yet defined. You make thoughtful risk decisions, communicate directly and factually, and bring the self-confidence to move important work forward without waiting for excessive direction. You are motivated by meaningful goals, visible progress, and the opportunity to build a strong market. You pair urgency with structure. You delegate effectively, establish useful systems and processes, and stay close enough to performance to keep execution on track. You can shift priorities when conditions change, remain analytical under pressure, and adjust your level of visibility and engagement to earn trust with teams, clients, and executive partners. Why Keystone Keystone helps boards and community members reconnect to where they live. As the company expands into North Carolina, this role offers the opportunity to join the executive leadership team, shape a new market, and establish the leadership, team, and operating foundation needed to support its success.
