VP of Marketing

Manière De Voir, New York (599 Broadway, SoHo). Full-time, in office five days a week. Reports to the Founder & CEO.

About Manière De Voir

Manière De Voir (French for "way of seeing") is a premium fashion brand founded in 2013. We are a $65M business: self-funded, profitable every year and growing at high double digits. No investors, no board, no committee.

The product is structured and architectural, with no visible logos: tailoring, corset tops, outerwear and dresses built to last. We sell through six regional online stores (US, UK, EU, Canada, Australia and the Middle East) and our own stores in London, New York (SoHo) and Dubai, with LA and Chicago in development. Our partners include Nordstrom, Farfetch and Ounass.

The role

You will own MDV's marketing: the strategy, the budget, the team and the results. Based in New York, you will build the marketing team for our next stage of growth across brand, performance and customer growth, shaping its structure and hiring priorities with the Founder & CEO.

We are looking for a marketer with real taste. Someone who can tell a good campaign from a great one, knows the culture our customer lives in, and can still read a cohort chart and defend every dollar of spend.

What you'll do

  • Strategy: set one global marketing plan across brand, acquisition and retention, by market and by channel, tied to the product calendar.
  • Brand: build desire and cultural relevance for MDV through campaigns, launches, creators and talent, PR, events and community, so the brand stays premium as it grows.
  • Acquisition: own new-customer growth across Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Google, creators, affiliates and new channels, with clear CAC and payback targets by market.
  • Customer growth and retention: run acquisition, conversion, retention and loyalty as one customer journey, building the capability to deliver email, SMS, lifecycle and store clienteling.
  • Budget: own the full marketing budget and move it where the return is, weekly where needed.
  • Measurement: build one system for how we judge marketing: incrementality and holdout tests, media-mix modelling and attribution, all read on net revenue after returns.
  • Creative partnership: write sharp commercial briefs for creative work, and judge the work on both brand and results.
  • Omnichannel and international: drive demand for our six online stores, our stores (including launches for new openings) and our wholesale partners, with a plan for each market.
  • Team: hire, lead and develop a high-performing team across brand, performance and CRM.

Your first 12 months

  • Build the core marketing team and operating rhythm.
  • Deliver profitable new-customer growth in the US and our other key markets.
  • Improve marketing efficiency: lower blended CAC and faster payback.
  • Put a single planning and measurement system in place that the Founder & CEO trusts, connecting marketing, financial and creative outcomes.

How we'll measure success

Incremental contribution from marketing, profitable new-customer growth, CAC and payback by market, 90- and 180-day repeat rate, LTV to CAC, and brand demand and health (branded search, direct traffic, share of voice).

What you'll bring

  • Experience: 12+ years in marketing, including 5+ years leading both brand and performance marketing as VP or Head of Marketing.
  • Fashion: a track record at a premium or contemporary fashion, accessories or lifestyle brand. Experience at a founder-led brand is a strong plus.
  • Scale: you have owned an annual marketing budget of $10M+ and grown a brand through a step-change in revenue.
  • Team: you have built and led a team of 10+ across brand, performance and CRM, and hired well.
  • Commercial depth: you know the economics of acquisition, retention, returns and e-commerce, and you have built incrementality or media-mix testing yourself.
  • Channels: hands-on strength in paid social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), search, creators and influencers, and email and SMS.
  • Omnichannel and international: you have supported stores and wholesale partners, and led marketing in more than one market (ideally the US plus the UK, Europe or the Middle East).
  • Taste: a portfolio of brand work you are proud of, a clear point of view on fashion and culture, and the judgement to grow a product-led, no-logo brand without diluting it.

How you work

Commercially rigorous, decisive and hands-on. You make calls with data and stand behind them. You are at your best working closely with a strong founder and aligning marketing with creative work: you challenge, you collaborate, and you keep the work moving.

Pay and benefits

Base salary: $275,000–$350,000, depending on experience, plus an annual performance bonus.

Benefits: healthcare. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

To apply

Send your CV and three to five pieces of work you led (campaigns, launches or growth programmes), with a line on the result of each.
