Job Description Summary

The Wilmington site HR Leader is a key site leadership role responsible for aligning people strategy with business objectives for a 700+ employee manufacturing operation in Wilmington, NC.

This role partners closely with the Site Leader to lead the people priorities of the site strategy while driving workforce planning, talent development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness across a workforce of ~550 hourly and ~150 salaried employees.

This position leads a team of two direct reports and partners across the site to support a high-performing, safe, and engaged culture. A strong focus of the role is strategic workforce planning and problem solving through FLIGHT DECK and Lean methodologies, enabling the site to execute at scale while developing and sustaining a workforce capable of meeting current and future business needs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic workforce planning for the site, including staffing plans, headcount forecasting, organizational design, succession planning, and capability development.
  • Partner with the Site Leader and site leadership team to define and execute the people priorities that support the overall site strategy and business objectives.
  • Lead and develop a team of two direct reports, ensuring accountability, capability building, and effective execution across HR priorities.
  • Drive HR and business problem solving using FLIGHT DECK and Lean methodologies to improve performance, reduce variation, and support operational execution.
  • Support the site’s talent agenda, including leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and workforce capability planning for critical roles.
  • Provide strategic guidance on employee relations, engagement, retention, workforce stability, and organizational health across hourly and salaried populations.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to align HR initiatives with production goals, site performance, safety, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Lead change management efforts related to organizational change, workforce planning, process improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, accountability, and safety while ensuring alignment with GE Aerospace policies, labor practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Use HR data and business insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to site leadership.
  • Support operational excellence through effective execution of HR programs, policies, and practices in a complex manufacturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 5 years prior experience in Human Resources, Business, Employee Relations or related area(s)

  • Strong business acumen and ability to connect people strategy to operational performance.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leaders, including plant/site leadership.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with change leadership, labor practices, and employee engagement strategies preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.
