Seeking an exceptionally resourceful, creative Workplace, Community & Events Lead to build the LatchBio experience!

We're scaling quickly, and want the experience of working at Latch to be as exceptional as the people building it.

Your job is to make Latch a place people genuinely love being part of, whether they're in our San Francisco office, working remotely, attending a company offsite, or meeting us for the first time at an industry event.

You'll own our physical and virtual workplace, internal culture and community experiences, and the events that bring our team and broader ecosystem together.

This is not a role for someone who simply books conference rooms and orders catering. You'll be part operator, part producer, part host, and part creative director. You should have extraordinary taste, exceptional execution, and an instinct for the small details that make an experience memorable.

We want someone who can turn a vague idea into an extraordinary experience, and make the entire process look effortless.

Who you are:

  • An exceptional host. You naturally think about how people experience a space, event, or community. You anticipate what they need before they ask.

  • High taste, low ego. You have strong aesthetic instincts and creative opinions, but you're equally happy designing an event concept and personally carrying boxes to make it happen.

  • Relentlessly resourceful. You can find the perfect venue, negotiate a better deal, solve a last-minute disaster, or create something remarkable on a limited budget.

  • Operationally flawless. Behind every effortless experience is obsessive planning. You own timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics, and every last detail.

  • A natural community builder. You connect people, create traditions, and understand how to make a rapidly growing team feel like one company.

  • Proactive and independent. You don't wait for someone to tell you the office feels empty, an event needs planning, or remote employees are disconnected. You notice, propose, and execute.

  • Creative without being performative. You understand that great culture isn't mandatory fun or corporate swag. It's thoughtful experiences, genuine connection, and an environment people are proud to be part of.

What you should excel at

  • Workplace Operations. Own the day-to-day experience of our San Francisco office: facilities, supplies, food and beverage, vendors, maintenance, space planning, and workplace improvements. Make the office run flawlessly.

  • Internal Events & Experiences. Produce team dinners, celebrations, offsites, retreats, onboarding experiences, and company-wide gatherings. Build traditions that scale with the team.

  • External Events & Community. Plan and execute industry dinners, networking events, conferences, and community experiences that strengthen Latch's reputation and relationships across AI, science, and technology.

  • Virtual Workplace & Gather. Own our Gather instance as a living extension of our office. Design spaces, manage rooms and configurations, improve adoption, and create experiences that connect distributed teams.

  • Culture & Community Building. Develop thoughtful ways for employees across functions, locations, and tenure levels to connect. Help preserve what makes Latch special as the company scales.

  • Creative Production. Translate ideas into cohesive experiences, from venue selection and environment design to invitations, branding, catering, programming, and the smallest details.

  • Budget & Vendor Management. Source and manage exceptional partners, negotiate contracts, track spending, and deliver outstanding experiences without unnecessary expense.

  • Workplace Systems. Build repeatable processes for office operations, event planning, employee requests, and community programming so the experience gets better as we grow.

  • Dogs! Make sure our sweet office puppy Nix is safe and cared for.

What we look for

  • Experience in workplace operations, events, hospitality, community, or a similarly high-touch, execution-heavy role

  • Exceptional taste and a demonstrated ability to create memorable experiences

  • Strong project management, vendor negotiation, and budget ownership

  • Comfort in personally handling the unglamorous details required to make ambitious ideas happen

  • Experience living with and handling dogs

  • Strong familiarity with digital collaboration tools and enthusiasm in experimenting with virtual workplaces

  • Experience supporting a fast-growing, high-performance team is a plus

  • Genuine enjoyment of bringing people together and creating environments where they thrive

  • Based in San Francisco and excited to be a consistent, hands-on presence in our office
