Location: UAE Dubai.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary/Compensation: Base Salary R50, 000 – R70, 000 + Performance Incentives. Work visa, accommodation and flights are all provided by the employer.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a strong, technically sound Workshop Supervisor to oversee and direct our daily workshop floor operations. In this role, you will bridge the gap between management and the technician bays, ensuring that vehicles flow through the workshop efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard of craftsmanship. Your primary focus is to enforce workshop floor discipline, maintain high technician productivity benchmarks, monitor safety standards, and minimize repair comebacks.

Key Responsibilities

· Daily Floor Supervision: Monitor the active progress of all vehicle repairs on the workshop floor, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks to meet promised customer delivery times.

· Technical Guidance: Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting advice to Technicians and Apprentices dealing with complex mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic challenges.

· Quality Control Management: Oversee the workshop’s quality gate, ensuring strict stage-by-stage and final road-test checks are carried out to eliminate repair comebacks.

· Health & Safety Enforcer: Champion and enforce strict compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe machine operations, and flawless workshop housekeeping.

· Asset & Tool Control: Manage and secure workshop machinery, specialized diagnostic tools, and equipment, ensuring regular servicing, calibration, and maintenance are carried out.

· Performance Accountability: Track technician flag hours, daily clocking efficiencies, and overall workshop throughput, providing clear productivity reports to the Workshop Manager.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

· Certification: Certified Trade Test / Red Seal (Automotive Motor Mechanic) is compulsory. Holding an OEM Master or Senior Diagnostic Technician status is highly desirable.

· Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in a busy automotive workshop environment, with at least 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory, workshop foreman, or team leader capacity.

· Technical Knowledge: Strong diagnostic and mechanical capability on modern vehicle systems, alongside a solid grasp of repair labor-time guides.

· Leadership Style: Assertive and professional leadership approach with the ability to maintain strong floor discipline, manage team morale, and coordinate staff under high-pressure conditions.

· Systems Literacy: Proficient in using Dealer Management Systems (DMS) such as Automate, Kerridge, Drive, or similar workflow tracking software.

· License: A valid, clean Driver’s License (Code B) is essential for vehicle road testing.
