The Role: The X-Ray Technologist performs X-ray, fluoroscopy and, if applicable, Mammography examinations in an efficient and effective manner while providing exceptional patient care. Reporting to: X-Ray/Mammography Supervisor Role Overview: Operates or oversees operation of radiologic medical imaging equipment to produce high quality diagnostic images. Verifies patient history and relevant information prior to beginning exam. Communicates with patients in a professional manner explaining procedures and observing the patient during the examination to ensure safety and comfort. Assesses and evaluates X-ray, fluoroscopic or mammographic images by ensuring the highest imaging quality to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Ensures that radiation safety measures and protection devices are used in accordance and in compliance with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff. Adheres to all privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures as they relate to EFW, our patients and our employees. Demonstrates EFW values of Compassion, Trust, and Meaning in the workplace. Subspecialty Training Opportunities in Mammography, Breast US, and MSK Pain Management. Undertakes additional duties as assigned. You have the following: Diploma or certificate from a recognized Medical Radiation Technology program. Ability to get your CAMRT/ACMDTT registration and license to practice in Alberta. Ability to consistently produce excellent radiographic images. Strong judgment and decision-making skills. Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities. Effective communication skills and a commitment to compassionate patient care. Proficiency in RIS software and other relevant technologies. Why EFW?
