Job Overview

Latton Lab is looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust server-side logic, high-performance APIs, and scalable data architectures for our custom software frameworks and IT solutions. In this role, you will build the core engine of our applications, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and secure data management across all digital products. This is a Remote Position based out of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• API & Architecture Design: Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and well-documented RESTful APIs and microservices to support client-facing applications and internal systems.
• Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage relational and non-relational databases, ensuring data integrity, efficient querying, and high availability.
• Core Business Logic: Translate product requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable server-side code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Performance & Scalability: Monitor, profile, and optimize application performance, identifying bottlenecks and scaling services to handle growing user loads.
• Security & Integration: Implement authentication, authorization, and data encryption best practices while integrating third-party services and cloud infrastructure seamlessly.

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in a Backend Engineering or Software Development role.
• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in modern backend programming languages (such as Python, Node.js, Go, or Java) and web frameworks.
• Databases & Storage: Deep familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Systems & Tools: Solid understanding of version control (Git), containerization (Docker), and working within cloud-hosted environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with a remote development team.
