Lead Social Media Designer & Video Editor

Position: Lead Performance Designer & Video Editor

Type: Full-Time Remote Contractor (40 hours/week)

Schedule: US Business Hours Alignment | Monday - Friday

Target Location: Remote (South Africa or Latin America)

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile Lead Performance Designer & Video Editor who bridges graphic design and video post-production into a single, high-output performance marketing role.

In this position, you will turn raw video footage, product photography, and creative briefs into high-converting static ads, thumb-stopping video Reels/TikToks, and polished email graphics. You understand marketing psychology, hook rates, hold rates, and how visual hierarchy drives e-commerce conversions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Format Ad Production: Design and edit high-converting static graphics, animated GIFs, motion graphics, and short-form video ads for Meta (Instagram/Facebook), TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
  • Direct Response Copy & Hooks: Analyze performance data to iterate on winning ad angles, testing different visual hooks, text overlays, CTAs, and graphic layouts.
  • Email & Web Graphic Design: Design clean, conversion-focused promotional graphics and templates for email marketing campaigns (Klaviyo) and e-commerce website assets.
  • Tool Mastery: Execute designs seamlessly using Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator), and Canva.
  • Asset & Workflow Management: Organize creative asset libraries, manage rendering pipelines, and utilize AI design tools to accelerate visual asset generation.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven DTC Portfolio: 3+ years of experience producing performance ad creative (static images and edited video) specifically for direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands.
  • Performance Mindset: Demonstrated understanding of direct response marketing concepts (hooks, pain points, social proof, value propositions, and CTA placement).
  • Software Mastery: Expertise in Figma, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and Canva.
  • High Autonomy: Ability to take raw assets and a creative direction brief and execute finished, polished ad variations independently.
  • Communication & Schedule: Excellent written English and full alignment with US business hours.
