StayDeck is a remote short-term rental management company. We run operations for property owners across North America, Aruba, and the UK, including guest communication, pricing, cleaner coordination, listings, and onboarding. Owners trust us with their properties and their money, and we're looking for an accountant who takes that as seriously as we do.

The role

We're hiring an Accountant on a part-time contract (about 20 hours per week) to own the trust accounting side of our operations. You'll make sure owner funds are tracked accurately, reconciled on time, and reported clearly. You'll work directly with our operations team and report to the founder.

What you'll do

• Manage trust accounting for owner funds, keeping owner money properly separated and tracked
• Reconcile trust and operating accounts on a regular schedule and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare accurate owner statements and handle owner payouts and disbursements
• Track booking revenue, platform payouts, expenses, and security deposits across multiple properties and currencies
• Support month-end close and keep records clean and audit-ready
• Help with tax-related bookkeeping, such as occupancy and sales taxes, where applicable
• Flag errors, risks, and process gaps early, and help build repeatable accounting SOPs

What we're looking for

• Proven hands-on experience with trust accounting (property management, real estate, legal, or similar)
• Strong reconciliation skills and close attention to detail
• Comfortable with accounting software such as [QuickBooks / Xero / other]
• Solid understanding of accounts payable and receivable, owner statements, and month-end processes
• Clear written English and good communication in a remote setting
• Someone who is honest, careful, and dependable with other people's money

Nice to have

• Experience with short-term rentals or property management accounting
• Familiarity with multi-currency or multi-jurisdiction accounting
• Experience with property management platforms such as Hostaway, Guesty, or similar
• Recognized accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
