You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients, build lasting relationships and support the development of junior colleagues. Reporting to Managers and Team Leaders, you’ll combine hands-on accounting work with technical review and mentoring responsibilities.

Your responsibilities
  • Prepare management accounts for your client portfolio and coordinate annual audits, ensuring auditors receive the information needed to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, and review returns prepared by other team members.
  • Review financial statements, including complex disclosures.
  • Monitor work across your own portfolio and those of junior colleagues to ensure statutory requirements and client deadlines are met.
  • Build strong client relationships, attend client meetings and support junior colleagues in their client interactions.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members, review their work and help resolve technical accounting and VAT queries.
  • Hold regular catch-ups with junior colleagues to review progress, priorities and development needs.
  • Support ongoing compliance monitoring within the accounting department.
  • Liaise with internal departments to obtain documentation for financial statements and statutory returns.
  • Identify significant accounting matters and escalate them to management.
  • Promote internal procedures and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve service quality.
  • Help identify training needs and contribute to departmental training and technical articles.

What we’re looking for
  • A recognised, completed accountancy qualification.
  • At least two years of experience in a client accounting environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of client accounting and VAT.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word, as well as SAGE.
  • Very good written and spoken English, with confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise competing assignments and work independently.
  • A responsible, ethical approach to handling sensitive financial information.
  • A collaborative attitude, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for supporting colleagues.

What’s on offer
  • A remuneration package and progression plan reflecting your knowledge and experience.
  • Performance bonus.
  • Hybrid working and flexible hours.
  • Friday office closing time of 2pm.
  • A supportive, family-oriented working culture.
  • Subsidised group health insurance.
  • Free parking.
  • Opportunities to attend industry events.
  • Regular team and departmental events.
  • Corporate discounts and offers across Malta.
  • Study leave and sponsorship opportunities.
  • On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals.
  • Professional development within an ACCA Approved Employer, including in-house CPE-accredited training.
