Accountant (Part-Qualified)

£46,000 | Hybrid (one day a week in the London Bridge office) | 3-month contract

Are you studying for ACA, ACCA or CIMA and looking for a role where your work shapes the future of a whole organisation? We have partnered with a wonderful housing charity looking for an Accountant to join their professional finance team.

The role

You’ll lead the rent and service charge accounting, making sure charges are set correctly, applied accurately and delivered on time. You’ll work closely with operational colleagues, budget holders and clients, building financial models, management reports and forecasts that people use and value.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Setting and analysing rent and service charges
• Producing arrears, debtors and performance reports
• Reconciling accounts and keeping fixed asset records accurate, including component accounting
• Filing statutory returns such as VAT and ONS
• Supporting internal, external and service charge audits
• Helping budget holders set and reforecast budgets
• Managing and developing an Assistant Accountant

You’ll report to the Head of Finance and help give our board and senior managers confidence that financial controls are working well.

About you

You’re working towards a UK-recognised accountancy qualification or hold a full qualification. You have advanced Excel skills and you’re strong at financial modelling and analysis. You write and speak clearly, adjusting your message for different audiences, and you take pride in accuracy and meeting deadlines. You enjoy working with others, welcome change and look for ways to improve how things are done. Experience in social housing or property, or of supervising others, would be a real advantage.
