We are looking for an Accountant (General Ledger) to join our client’s accounting team. You will support day-to-day accounting and the monthly close by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and investigating unusual activity. This role is suited to someone with initial accounting experience or a strong accounting internship who is ready to take ownership of assigned tasks. You will receive support from the Accounting Manager and experienced teammates as you learn the company’s systems and processes.

Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly close for assigned balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and accruals accurately and on time.
- Reconcile accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Review profit and loss account activity, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
- Work with Accounting, Finance, and other teams to gather supporting information and answer accounting questions.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for the year-end audit.
- Maintain clear records for reconciliations, accounting processes, and internal controls.
- Contribute to process improvements and other accounting projects as needed.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally including general ledger activities and month-end close.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and a basic understanding of US GAAP.
- Strong attention to detail and an organized approach to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and think critically about account activity.
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with Microsoft Office applications.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues across teams.
- Ability to adapt and learn in a growing, fast-paced company.
- Experience in audit or at a Big 4 firm is a plus, but is not required.
