Key Responsibilities Australian Tax & Compliance: Prepare and lodge BAS, tax returns, and other compliance requirements for Australian entities and individuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian tax regulations. Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and detailed financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Tax Returns: Prepare income tax returns and related compliance work for companies, trusts, and individuals. Bookkeeping & Accounting: Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks using Xero, including maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance requirements. Client Liaison: Communicate with Australian clients to gather financial information, clarify requirements, and provide clear and professional communication regarding their accounts and compliance matters. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all work is completed accurately, in accordance with current Australian legislation and industry standards, and within required deadlines. Portfolio Management: Work alongside an experienced Australian accountant to deliver compliance services for an assigned portfolio of clients. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 5 years of Australian tax accounting experience, with hands-on experience preparing financial statements, tax returns, BAS, and other compliance requirements for Australian entities and individuals. Xero expertise is mandatory. Experience working in an Australian accounting or tax firm is highly preferred. Experience with Karbon and Active Workpapers is highly valued. CPA qualification is ideal but not essential. Strong understanding of Australian tax and accounting compliance requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively within a structured compliance process. Work Arrangement You will be paired with an experienced Australian accountant who will provide support and guidance while you deliver compliance work for an assigned portfolio of clients. The role involves working collaboratively to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality compliance deliverables.
