Accounting & Finance Integration Consultant (Contract) - Fully Remote, Hungary

We're supporting a Fortune 500 organization on a strategic acquisition integration project. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong UK GAAP expertise, a Big 4 background, and experience leading finance integration activities following acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the finance integration of newly acquired entities into the group reporting environment.
• Lead chart of accounts alignment and account mapping between legacy and target structures.
• Assist with accounting policy harmonization to ensure consistency across the organization.
• Prepare and validate opening balance sheets and support purchase accounting-related activities.
• Partner with finance, tax, and operational teams to align reporting processes and controls.
• Support ERP and financial systems integration, including data migration and validation activities.
• Drive process harmonization initiatives across month-end close, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
• Support statutory, tax, and compliance alignment requirements across jurisdictions.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process standardization, automation, and enhanced reporting tools.

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting, finance, or financial reporting experience.
• Big 4 audit background strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP with exposure to multinational reporting environments.
• Previous experience supporting acquisitions, carve-outs, integrations, or finance transformation projects.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, international environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
