Accounting Supervisor, A/R and A/P

About Us
We build and scale consumer brands. Our portfolio includes category leaders at the top of Amazon, on shelves at major national retailers, and sold direct to consumers by subscription, including well-known consumer brands. We run an asset-light model with outsourced manufacturing, 3PLs and contract customer service, and a small internal team that owns the brands and the numbers. The finance team supports several legal entities and runs on QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Cin7 and ClickUp, with Excel and daily AI use (mainly Claude) built into how work gets done.

Role Summary
The Accounting Supervisor owns accounts receivable and accounts payable end to end for every entity and supervises the accountants who do the daily work. You own how a vendor bill moves from Ramp intake through coding, approval and payment across several Ramp instances and entities; how retailer and marketplace remittances get matched, short-paid and chased; how intercompany bills between our entities get cut and settled; and how all of it reconciles to the bank and the ledger by day five of close. You'll also build the receivables function we're bringing in-house from an outsourced provider. Success means the Accounting Manager and VP of Finance trust the A/R and A/P subledgers for every entity without re-checking them, and the close never waits on A/R or A/P.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Run full-cycle A/P for all entities in Ramp: bill intake, coding to the right entity, class and account, approval routing, payment runs (ACH, wire, card, check), vendor terms and 1099 readiness.
- Own the weekly A/P aging and cash requirements by entity, aligning payment timing with the cash forecast.
- Maintain vendor master data, W-9s and banking changes under documented controls that prevent duplicate payments and fraud.
- Run intercompany billing and MSA recharges between our entities and settle them on a regular cadence.
Accounts Receivable
- Own customer invoicing, remittance matching and cash application for retail, QVC and marketplace customers.
- Lead the move of the outsourced A/R book in-house: process design, data migration and handover.
- Log, validate and dispute deductions, chargebacks and short pays; keep a collections cadence per customer and an aging that shows what is at risk.
- Maintain customer master data and credit terms, and set up A/R controls for new retail accounts.
Close & Controls
- Complete and review A/R, A/P and bank reconciliations by day five of close for every entity, tied to QuickBooks Online, with explanations for every open item.
- Own the A/R and A/P sections of the close calendar in ClickUp and maintain team standard operating procedures.
- Prepare support schedules for lender reporting, field exams and audit.
- Keep sales tax and 1099 data accurate from the subledgers.
Team Leadership & Improvement
- Supervise the A/P Specialist, A/R Specialist and GL Accountant: set priorities, review work, train, and hold the standard that every entry traces to its source.
- Automate recurring A/R and A/P reporting with Claude and Excel, and document it.
- Spot and escalate problems before the Accounting Manager has to ask.

Requirements
- Full-cycle A/P on Ramp or similar platforms for more than one legal entity, including approval workflows and payment runs.
- A/R for retail, marketplace or wholesale customers, including remittance matching, deductions and short pays, with a collections cadence that recovered money.
- Ownership of A/R, A/P and bank reconciliations in a monthly close on QuickBooks Online or similar, tying subledgers to the GL.
- Supervised at least two accountants or specialists, including reviewing and training.
- 5-8 years in accounting operations, at least 2 as a supervisor or lead, ideally in CPG, DTC or ecommerce.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP for payables, receivables, accruals and intercompany, with multi-entity experience.
- Advanced Excel (pivots, lookups, Power Query) and reconciliations others can follow.
- Uses AI (mainly Claude) as an everyday tool and checks its output.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Clear written and spoken English; able to work a consistent PST schedule.

Nice-to-Haves
- Hands-on Ramp and QuickBooks Online.
- Cin7 or another inventory system.
- Led an outsourced A/R transition.
