Why join us?
This role sits within the Financial Shared Services Centre (FSSC) and supports the business through the delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality accounts payable services. The postholder will take ownership of day-to-day Accounts Payable activity in a high-volume, multi-entity environment, ensuring that invoices, expenses and payments are processed accurately, within agreed service levels and in line with DWF policies and controls.
The role combines hands-on transaction processing with responsibility for resolving complex queries, supporting month-end activities, improving processes and, where required, guiding junior colleagues. The level of operational oversight and team support will reflect the experience and seniority of the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Processing a high volume of PO and non-PO invoices across multiple entities and currencies, ensuring these are accurately coded, approved and processed on time.
- Reviewing and processing employee expenses, ensuring claims are in line with policy and payments are allocated correctly.
- Preparing weekly supplier payment runs, as well as supporting urgent and time-sensitive payments when required.
- Managing shared AP inboxes and workflow queues, responding to queries from colleagues and suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
- Investigating and resolving supplier, invoice, expense and payment queries, including more complex or aged issues.
- Preparing and reconciling supplier statements, following up on outstanding items and supporting aged creditor reviews.
- Processing and reconciling intercompany invoices and balances.
- Using Excel to upload, validate and manage financial information relating to fees and other AP activity.
- Supporting month-end activities, including reconciliations, reporting and reviewing outstanding liabilities.
- Producing regular operational and KPI reporting to help monitor the performance of the AP function.
- Looking for opportunities to improve, simplify and automate AP processes, helping the team work as effectively as possible.
- Supporting strong financial controls and ensuring processes comply with relevant policies, regulations and audit requirements.
- Sharing your knowledge with colleagues and providing support, guidance and training to other team members when required.
