We are Natural Systems Design, a Washington-based environmental services and consulting firm. Founded in 2003, we are an interdisciplinary team with over 50 people with office locations in Seattle, Bellingham, and Port Angeles, Washington. We focus our efforts throughout Washington State. Our company was founded and grown with the intention of being a different kind of professional services and consulting company that prioritizes its people, science, the environment, and collectively making a positive impact.
Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk supports Natural Systems Design’s accounting department, with a primary focus on preparing accurate, timely project invoices for clients. This role works closely with project managers and accounting staff to gather billing information, resolve questions, and deliver invoices that meet client and contract requirements. Additionally, this role will support the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices. The position also assists with routine accounting and administrative tasks.
NSD currently uses Deltek Ajera and plans to transition to Deltek Vantagepoint in the first quarter of 2027. The successful candidate will learn invoicing in Ajera, participate in training and testing for Vantagepoint, and adapt to the new system alongside the accounting department.

- Coordinate vendor payments by gathering documentation, confirming payment details, and communicating payment status as directed by accounting staff.
- Assist with bank runs, including deposits and delivering banking documents.
- Assist with filing, recordkeeping, data entry, and other accounting tasks as assigned.
