Role title: Advanced Associate, Content Producer
Business unit / department: Pearson Professional Assessment, Learning & Content Development
Location: Melbourne, Australia

Employment type: Fixed term – 12 month maternity
Reports to: Jen Slaughter

Role Purpose

An Advanced Associate, Content Producer will support the team with end-to-end development and production of assessment content; from planning and Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to editorial oversight and final product build. They coordinate internal and external resources and training material, and ensure all content is delivered to the highest quality standards. An associate Content Producers plays a key role in maintaining consistency, meeting specifications, and ensuring projects are delivered on time

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for item writing and review
  • Supporting workflows and providing feedback to SMEs to ensure high quality content outcomes
  • Developing support materials and distributing to item writers and reviewers; Performing quality control tasks prior to publication;
  • Adhering to immovable deadlines and maintaining project documentation;
  • Preparing for content development meetings, creating and publishing exams, and collecting and reporting data related to the team's activities
  • Identify risks, recommend solutions, and make informed content decisions to keep projects on track.
  • Support continuous improvement, including the use of AI and emerging tools to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Content Development Manager

Skills & Competencies:

  • Attention to detail - Demonstrate integrity in all tasks and maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality for all content.
  • Content Development Expertise: Exhibit strong skills in traditional content development processes, including item writing, item bank management, and quality control, ensuring alignment with best practices in assessment and educational standards.

Technical skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication 
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience: Experience in a related field such as test development, education or publishing
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as education or publishing

  • Demonstrates highly active ownership of projects, possesses ability to proactively assess and mitigate risk, and actively poses solutions to problems.
