The Role

We are looking for an AI Automation Engineer to join our R&D team and help turn emerging AI capabilities into practical, production-ready solutions.

You'll design, build and deploy AI-driven automation that improves workflows and supports business operations. Working with generative AI, conversational AI and agent-based workflows, you'll take ideas from initial concept through implementation, integration and ongoing optimisation.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building real applications with AI rather than focusing solely on research or experimentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy AI-driven automation solutions.
• Develop and operate AI-powered applications, including chatbots, assistants and agents.
• Build new capabilities and workflows for AI agents.
• Integrate AI models and services into existing systems using APIs and cloud technologies.
• Identify automation opportunities with technical and business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into working, end-to-end technical solutions.
• Monitor, evaluate and improve the performance and reliability of AI applications.
• Continuously explore emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to apply them.

What We're Looking For

• Strong programming experience in JavaScript, TypeScript and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI.
• Experience using model APIs, prompt engineering and building applications on top of AI models.
• Practical experience developing and deploying conversational AI solutions, such as chatbots, assistants or voicebots.
• Experience building workflow automation or AI-powered applications.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, REST services and system integrations.
• Experience with a major cloud platform, such as Google Cloud Platform or an equivalent.
• The ability to turn ambiguous requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Good written and spoken English.

Desirable Experience

• Workflow orchestration and automation tools.
• DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• A strong interest in emerging AI developments and agentic systems.
