As our new AI & Automation Consultant, you work directly with customers to identify valuable use cases, recommend the right solution and take it through to enterprise deployment. Sometimes that means an agent built in Microsoft Copilot Studio or Microsoft Foundry. Sometimes it means Power Platform automation, classic search or another deterministic approach.

This is a customer-facing delivery role on enterprise AI enablement engagements, working alongside the architect who owns the platform decision and alongside the strategy, security and adoption workstreams. Alongside hands-on delivery, you will help ensure that Responsible AI and governance principles are designed into solutions from the beginning rather than added at the end.

We care more about solving the problem than using the most powerful technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise and implement governance guardrails within the customer's Power Platform — managed environments, DLP connector policies, the custom connector approval route, capacity and license consumption, and the Center of Excellence tooling that keeps the estate visible Use agile and design-thinking methods to uncover, challenge and prioritise valuable AI and automation use cases
• Build and customize agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio or Microsoft Foundry — instructions, knowledge grounding, connectors, actions and the enterprise AI workflows behind them
• Support the Solution Architect on the platform decision for each enterprise AI use case — Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry or the Power Platform — working from the business outcome rather than the product, choosing the least powerful option that meets the requirement, and defending that trade-off in design review
• Say so when the answer is not an agent at all: structured, predictable work belongs in deterministic automation, and static retrieval in classic search. Recommending that is part of the job
• Build and manage enterprise integrations — REST APIs, authentication, permissions, and connections into Dataverse, SharePoint and third-party systems
• Develop and maintain solutions across Power Apps and Power Automate
• Support enterprise AI rollout by embedding security, governance and Responsible AI principles across the solution lifecycle
• For everything you build, ensure the following: a first-class agent identity with least-privilege scope, registration in the agent inventory, human approval gates on anything that writes, data-protection checks across grounding and action paths, and audit-mode monitoring from day one
• Stay current on Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform and MCP developments, and share what you learn across the team

What we need to see from you

• Hands-on Copilot Studio agent building. You have built and customized agents in production — instructions, knowledge grounding, topics, connectors and actions — and you have extended them with tools
• Power Platform and Microsoft 365 depth, with real integration experience. Around five years across Power Apps, Power Automate and SharePoint Online, and the integration work that comes with it — REST APIs, authentication, permissions, and Dataverse and SharePoint connections
• Governance literacy. You understand environment strategy, ALM and deployment across dev, test and production, plus tenant and connector policy — and you understand that an agent inherits whatever those policies allow. You do not need to have run a tenant; you do need to know what to ask for and why
• Alongside those three, we look for how you work: agile, open-minded, strong design-thinking skills, and the judgement to challenge assumptions rather than accept the first use case offered
• Consulting presence: you run workshops, write documents customers sign, and handle estimation and scope conversations without escalation
• Fluency in English (both verbal and written)

Considered a strong advantage

None of the following is required, and nothing here will cost you the role. But each one is a genuine advantage, and if you bring it, you will be building on it from your first week:

• Microsoft Foundry — agent projects, model deployment and the Microsoft Agent Framework pro-code path. Semantic Kernel or AutoGen counts. The single strongest differentiator on this list
• Agent identity and lifecycle — Microsoft Entra Agent ID and Microsoft Agent 365: registration, least-privilege scoping and retirement. Rare experience, and increasingly the difference between a pilot and a production rollout
• Microsoft Fabric — OneLake, lakehouse or warehouse fundamentals and Power BI semantic models. The grounding layer beneath every data-aware agent
• Python or C# — enough to build and debug a small service, and to review what an AI coding assistant writes rather than trust it.
