Overview
At Lupa, we're hiring an AI Engineer I to join a fast-growing US sales and marketing consultancy that is building its AI engineering team from the ground up. This is a rare chance to get in early and help shape how a 45-year-old, scrappy, innovation-driven company puts AI to work across its business.
If you want to spend your days building real AI agents — not just talking about them — this role is for you. You'll build agents that help finance and sales analysts work faster and smarter, connecting data across systems so a simple question in a chat turns into a real answer. This is a hands-on building role where you'll write code, ship tools, and learn the latest AI platforms alongside a senior team lead who is known for developing her people.
This is a 100% remote position, working closely with a US-based team in a close-knit, high-intensity, build-fast environment.
What You'll Do
Build and test AI agents that help analytics teams pull, combine, and summarize data
Develop RAG pipelines and agent workflows on Snowflake and related data platforms
Write Python that turns AI ideas into working, shippable tools
Craft and refine prompts and prepare data to get better model results
Experiment with new AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Snowflake Cortex, and more) and help decide what the team adopts
Document what you build so others can use it
Work side by side with developers to build agents and tools that live natively inside the company's own systems
Who You Are
Must-haves
Strong Python coding skills — you build things, not only scripts
Up to 2 years of experience with AI/GenAI, data platforms, or technical projects (internships, academic, and personal projects all count)
Hands-on experience with an LLM platform such as Claude or ChatGPT, beyond everyday use
Some exposure to Snowflake or Databricks
Familiarity with RAG, LLM apps, or data workflows
Professional-level English (C1 or above) — you'll be working directly with a US team ⚠️ Needs recruiter input: confirm required English proficiency level
Nice-to-haves
You've tinkered with AI agents, tool calling, APIs, or MCP
Interest in finance or sales data
AI certifications or courses (AI-900, prompt engineering, etc.)
What's In It For You
Get in early: Join a brand-new AI team and help shape how an established company uses AI
Strong mentorship: Close guidance from a senior AI engineering lead known for developing her people
Work on what matters: Your agents directly support the company's revenue-driving teams, which get the best tools and resources
Clear growth path: A defined path to AI Engineer II as your skills (and English) grow
Fully remote from Latin America, working with a US team on US time zones
Payment in USD via a EOR engagement, giving you currency stability and flexibility as well as long-term and stable employment.
Location: Open (Remote) across Latin America
