Job posting end date: 11/22/2026
Introduction
We are looking for an AI Portfolio, Manager to join our AI Transformation Office within Metso’s Business Growth function. You will be joining a new and rapidly expanding AI Transformation organization, working across business and functional boundaries to make AI activity visible, understandable and connected. You will help Metso answer three important questions: What are we doing with AI, why are we doing it, and what value is it creating?
Program Gold, Metso's AI transformation program, brings together enterprise-wide initiatives, business-led solutions and practical applications in everyday work. In this role, you will build a reliable view of that activity and own the processes and portfolio management tool that support it. You will connect information across teams, establish consistent ways of assessing opportunities and tracking progress, and turn that information into useful insight.
Team you will belong to
You will report to the VP, AI Transformation and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, the Data & Analytics organization, Metso Digital organizations and IT. Within the AI Transformation Office, you will work with colleagues responsible for engineering delivery on capacity, commitments and dependencies; with platform and governance colleagues on technical readiness, shared capabilities and risk information; and with adoption colleagues on emerging use cases, employee needs and adoption outcomes. Your contribution will be to create clarity and continuity, supporting portfolio management and informed decisions without taking ownership away from the teams delivering the work.
What you’ll do
- Create a clear view of all AI activity across Metso, from enterprise initiatives to local business and functional solutions.
- Own and improve the portfolio management process, from capturing initiatives to tracking progress and changes.
- Own the portfolio management tool from a business perspective: define needs, support users and drive improvements.
- Keep portfolio information reliable and up to date by working with initiative owners on clear, consistent updates.
- Set up practical ways to assess AI investments together with business owners and Finance.
- Connect AI initiatives to business priorities, showing why they exist, who benefits and what value they create.
- Provide clear reporting and insights on progress, gaps, overlaps and opportunities for reuse.
- Prepare portfolio reviews and decisions, and follow up on agreed actions.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in portfolio management, governance or reporting in a complex organization, ideally across technology or transformation initiatives.
- The ability to bring structure to scattered information and turn it into a clear picture for business and technical audiences.
- Experience developing portfolio management tools and workflows. Transferable experience matters more than any specific product.
- Strong analytical and business skills, including assessing business cases and measuring value together with Finance.
- A practical understanding of how AI creates business value, enough to engage confidently with specialists.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to influence without formal authority.
- A pragmatic, service-minded approach that combines attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience in business, technology, engineering or a related field. Experience in a global industrial company is a plus.
We support your growth and wellbeing by offering:
- Purpose-led work: Contribute to enabling sustainable modern life and transforming the industry.
- Wellbeing: Access to wellbeing programs, occupational healthcare, and supportive services.
- Rewards: Competitive compensation and performance-based incentives.
- Flexibility: Hybrid working options to support balance and productivity.
- Growth: Learning pathways, mentoring, internal mobility, and global collaboration opportunities.
- Culture: A caring, collaborative, and inclusive workplace committed to helping you thrive.
