Job Description This is a remote position. AI Product Engineer Fully Remote within the UK Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 My client is a leading UK Fintech company dedicated to transforming the lending landscape. They build cutting-edge financial products that simplify and accelerate the borrowing process for their customers. As they continue to scale, they are embracing the next generation of software development by integrating AI deeply into their engineering workflows. The Role My client is seeking a commercially aware AI Product Engineer to join their fully remote team. This is not a traditional software engineering role. You will be responsible for building end-to-end products using cutting-edge AI-assisted development tools, specifically Claude Code , Cursor , and the Anthropic API . You will act as a bridge between product intent and working software, translating complex business requirements into production-ready code at unprecedented speeds. You will own entire platform builds, define technical architectures, and guide AI coding assistants through complex feature development. What You'l be tasked with: •End-to-End Product Ownership: Own the full architecture and development of complex fintech platforms, from frontend user interfaces to backend APIs and database schemas. •AI-Assisted Development: Utilize Claude Code and Cursor daily for all production development. You will excel at prompt decomposition, context injection, constraint specification, and guiding multi-step builds through complex codebases. •Architecture & Quality Control: Define and maintain target technical architectures across the full stack. You will rigorously review all AI-generated code outputs for correctness, security, performance, and adherence to conventions. •AI Integration: Build and monitor AI-powered systems (e.g., automated extraction systems, conversational interfaces) using the Anthropic API and other LLMs. •Product Translation: Work directly with stakeholders to shape product decisions, translating product intent into effective briefs and technical specifications that AI tools can execute. As the preferred applicant - my client is looking for a product engineer, perhaps a former founder or early-stage startup engineer - who knows how to build production applications quickly and securely. You have strong commercial awareness and understand how technical decisions impact the business bottom line. Requirements Extensive AI Tooling Experience: Proven daily use of Claude Code, Cursor, and Anthropic APIs to build and deploy production software. Strong Engineering Foundation: Deep expertise in modern web development stacks. The ideal stack includes React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Node.js, PostgreSQL (Supabase), and AWS. AI Intuition: A strong instinct for when to reject an AI's plan, when to refine it, and when to let it run. Commercial Acumen: A background in product engineering with startup experience. You know how to translate product intent into working software quickly and efficiently. System Design: Experience architecting complex platforms with multi-partner orchestration, pricing calculators, and heavy API integrations.
